Members of the Quarter
By uniting their passion for keeping up on international affairs with broad community participation within the Rocky Mountain Region, DCFR members Carol and John Balkcom embody the very concept of thinking globally but acting locally.

As such, DCFR is excited to announce their selection as our organization’s Members of the Quarter!

Carol is currently a member of the popular Colorado Public Radio Community Advisory Board and when she is not enjoying DCFR events, she regularly volunteers her time at Warren Village. This amazing and important community exists to help low income, single parent families achieve and sustain personal and economic self-sufficiency.

Demonstrating that same passion for volunteerism, John is currently the Co-chair of the Nominating Committee within the Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP). KIPP Colorado Schools is a network of free, open enrollment, college preparatory public charter schools dedicated to preparing students in underserved communities for success in both college and life. And on top of all of his supportive efforts, John is also a proud member of the Visiting Committee to the Physical Sciences Division of the University of Chicago.

The DCFR Board thanks Carol and John Balkcom for their continuous work within the Denver community and their patronage within our own. Congratulations on being our Members of the Quarter!
