Charlie Crouse 

Senior Customer Intelligence and Integration Lead for Advanced Space

Charlie Crouse is the Senior Customer Intelligence and Integration Lead for Advanced Space, a Colorado-based space-enabling company specializing in services, software, program management, space infrastructure, and operations for deep space, lunar, Martian, and Earth-based missions.

Charlie is responsible for customer relationships, external advisors, market analysis, and increasing the growth of the company across an expanding customer base, which includes the Department of Defense, NASA, Intelligence Community, foreign space programs, and commercial partners.

Within the space industry, Charlie has held roles of increasing responsibility at Lockheed Martin Space as well as True Anomaly and runs a private advisory firm for aerospace concerns, technology analysis, and international business development. Prior to his time in the space industry, he was an Intelligence Officer in the United States Air Force. 

Outside of work, Charlie is a WSET Level II in Wines, passing with merit, as well as a WSET Level I in Spirits. He is also the co-author of Tiber’s Travels.

Sarah Law

Spacecraft Design and Operations Team Lead at Astroscale U.S., Inc.

As the Spacecraft Design and Operations Team Lead, Sarah leads a team of more than 20, overseeing systems engineering, spacecraft-level design, assembly, integration, & test, and launch, as well as ground development and operations for Astroscale U.S. Sarah is focused on creating the technologies necessary for routine on orbit services in space and is passionate about space sustainability.

Sarah has more than 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry, primarily at Raytheon, where she held roles of increasing responsibility, including as Corporate Systems Engineering & Architecture Technical Area Director, International Space & C2 Technical Director, and Engineering Fellow. These roles gave her insight into the importance of international collaboration in the space domain as well as it becomes increasingly contested, congested, and competitive.

Sarah has a Master of Science in mathematics from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Systems Sciences Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. She holds two patents and has published repeatedly. Sarah enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, and studying nature with her daughter, Eva.

Dr. Alex Shi

Senior Program Analyst, Space Safety at Secure World Foundation

Alex Shi is a Senior Program Analyst, bringing more than a decade of experience across public policy, engineering, and complex systems.

Before joining SWF, Alex served as a senior policy officer and team lead in the Singapore Government. She has experience developing and managing a wide range of policy portfolios across the Ministries of Finance, National Development, and Law, and helped shape major national initiatives, including economic strategy, climate resilience planning, infrastructure financing, and regulatory reform. Her work involved conducting policy analyses, developing national budgets, and supporting political and policy decision-making through briefings and parliamentary speechwriting.

Alex holds a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Purdue University. Her research focused on decision support for space sustainability, where she developed integrated policy and systems models that connect regulatory choices, constellation design, operator behavior, and orbital risk into a unified simulation framework. Alongside her doctoral work, she also contributed to numerous research projects with government and industry partners in areas such as technology investment and complex systems analysis. She has published research on a diverse range of topics, including space sustainability, collaborative satellite systems, and defense acquisition.

Alex also holds M.Eng. and B.A. (Hons) degrees in Engineering from the University of Cambridge (U.K.), with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering.

Timothy Cichan

Space Exploration Architect at Lockheed Martin Space

Timothy Cichan is the Space Exploration Architect at Lockheed Martin, where he leads a multi-disciplinary team of engineers who figure out how to help astronauts and robots visit the Moon, asteroids, and Mars. He previously was the Orion System Architect. Timothy joined Lockheed Martin in 2002 and has worked for both human spaceflight and commercial communication satellite teams, in optimal trajectory design, mission analysis, subsystem development, and systems engineering. He has a master’s and bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Penn State.
