Join DCFR’s Young Professionals Committee for our next “Global Insights, Local Results” panel discussion, Dollars, Diseases, and Diplomacy: The Future of Global Health Security. We will take a look at how recent funding shifts and changing international politics are disrupting the traditional global health systems we’ve relied on since WWII. Come hear from our experts about what these big global changes mean for international security and how they impact us right here at home.
Global Insights Local Results is a speaker series that looks at lessons learned from the international community and tries to increase dialogue in Colorado about potential solutions to the state’s policies.

Dr. Doug Jackson
Dr. Douglas Jackson serves as the President/CEO of Project C.U.R.E. Each week, Project C.U.R.E. delivers approximately four semi-truck loads of donated medical supplies and equipment to desperately needy people around the world. Since 1987, Project C.U.R.E. has delivered equipment and supplies to hospitals and clinics in over 135 countries. Project C.U.R.E. is consistently recognized with the highest rankings from Guidestar and Charity Navigator, and was named by Forbes as one of the top 20 charities in America. In addition to his work at Project C.U.R.E., Dr. Jackson has taught at the university level in the disciplines of finance, investments, leadership development, legal and international issues.
Dr. May Chu
Dr. Chu’s public health career was with the CDC where she served in multiple roles, including being the Director of the CDC’s system-wide laboratory enterprise. After leaving CDC, she returned to Colorado and now holds a clinical professor appointment at the Colorado School of Public Health. Concurrently, she works as senior technical consultant for USAID and WHO. Among her multiple roles for CDC, Dr. Chu was assigned to the WHO participating in the Global Outbreak and Response team, deploying for multiple outbreak responses to SARS, viral hemorrhagic fevers, pandemic influenza and natural disasters.
Matt Seefeldt
Matt Seefeldt is VP of CMC at VitriVax and has over twenty years of CMC experience in the protein biologics and cell-therapy space. During his career, he was instrumental in developing or transferring processes for over eleven INDs, and in collaboration with his team, successfully executing over a hundred GMP manufacturing runs. Matt conducted his PhD studies with Dr. Ted Randolph at the University of Colorado where he evaluated the use of high pressure to reduce particle formation and immunogenicity of IFN-beta-1b. His graduate research resulted in a start-up company, BaroFold, where he served as the Chief Scientific Officer.
