A DCFR High School Education Initiative in Collaboration with the University of Denver.

The Denver Council on Foreign Relations (DCFR) is proud to present the Globally Engaged High School Student Program—an initiative that brings real-world global affairs directly into the classroom. Designed for high school students, this program transforms traditional learning into dynamic, student-led experiences that explore the complexities of international issues.

Through expert panels, student-driven research, and hands-on technical and marketing execution, participants gain invaluable insights and develop essential skills in leadership, communication, and global awareness.

🛠 How it Works

Quarterly Events (During School Hours):

Held from 12–2pm as lunch sessions to maximize attendance and minimize scheduling conflicts.

Student Roles:
  • Panel Moderator
  • Q&A Facilitator
  • Research Lead
  • Tech Coordinator
  • Marketing & Outreach Lead
DCFR Support:
  • Identifies and secures expert panelists
  • Provides speaker compensation and hospitality
  • Supplies lunch incentives for student attendees
  • Offers logistical and on-site support

Littleton High School: Since 2021, the IB teaching staff has partnered with DCFR to facilitate programs for Littleton students. 

University of Denver (DU): DCFR collaborates with DU to co-brand events, prioritize DU faculty for panels, and expand outreach to other high schools. While DU cannot staff every event, they support the program’s growth and visibility.

IB Association of Rocky Mountain Schools: Through our partnership with Littleton High School, the program is actively engaging IB schools across the region to build a network of globally minded student leaders.
